New Middletown, Ohio
Every cup
earned by
patience
Small-batch roasted. Hand-poured. Made slowly in a town that values the real thing — right here on Sycamore Drive.
Single-origin beans
Sourced from farms that treat their land with the same respect you bring to your morning ritual.
Roasted in small batches
Every batch is watched, turned, and tasted — never mass-produced, always intentional.
Made by hand, daily
Pastries, breads, and lattes — nothing pre-made, nothing rushed. Fresh from our kitchen to your cup.
The Coffee
Black, white,
or somewhere between
From a quiet espresso to a slow pour-over, each drink is built around the bean — never diluted by shortcuts.
A double shot pulled from our rotating single-origin. Clean, bright, and layered — the way a proper espresso should be. Served as a solo, doppio, or the base for any milk drink on the menu.
Hand-poured over a fresh filter, one cup at a time. We adjust grind, temperature, and flow rate to match each origin — Ethiopian Yirgacheffe tastes nothing like a Huila, and we let them speak for themselves.
One part espresso, one part steamed milk — no foam, no filler. The milk softens the edges without masking the coffee. Served in a small glass so you notice the difference between a good one and a great one.
Coarsely ground, cold water, eighteen hours in the back. The result is smooth and sweet without a hint of bitterness — naturally. Plain, or with a splash of oat or whole milk if you prefer.
From the Kitchen
Baked before
dawn, gone by noon
Everything in our case is made here — croissants, scones, breads, and seasonal tarts. If it's not fresh, it's not on the shelf.
Laminated, French-style, baked fresh each morning
Soft interior, crisp crust, Maldon on top
Vanilla custard, shortcrust, whatever the market offers
Classic buttermilk or current seasonal addition
Sourdough or enriched — check the board at the counter
Our Story
We opened because
the coffee deserved
a second look
Hallowed Grounds Coffee Co. started with a simple question: what would a coffee shop look like if it cared more about the craft than the crowd? In a town like New Middletown, where people value honest work and real relationships, we thought there might be room for a place that takes coffee seriously without taking itself too seriously.
We source green beans from roasters who tell us where the farm is, who grew the cherry, and how they processed it. We roast in small quantities so nothing sits around. We bake everything ourselves because the difference between made-at-6-am and made-yesterday is something you can taste.
This isn't a chain. It's not a franchise. It's a shop on Sycamore Drive, and we're proud of that.
